We are up and going again for 2010 on The Sydney Irish Radio Programme broadcasting to metro Sydney parts of NSW and around the world on www.2ser.com
In January we had a big Wolftones promotion, their final tour of Australia and they really went down well at the Hordern Pavilion, well with most people anyway.
The first Sunday we were joined and entertained by visiting Irish actor Diarmuid de Faoite. What a delightful character and fantastic story teller
On January 17th Myles Mooney featured a segment on “Irish classical music” and this was received very well. Gerard Ryan President of the 2010 St Patrick’s Day Parade committee joined us for a chat on the March celebrations.

Valentines Day and we have a give away from Mulligan’s, played lots of soft music for all, the lovers! Gerard Ryan joined us and reported on the forthcoming Bachelors Ball at the Four Season’s Hotel.
It’s 21st of February I’m a little worst of wear following the Bachelors Ball where I assisted with the judging. I spoke to Irish Journalist Kate O’Shea who is joining our team on the second Sunday of each month. Kate is full time with BBC Northern Ireland and will report on matters including religion, arts, politics, entertainment etc. Welcome Kate.
We spoke to Maggie Scott, Director of a forthcoming play “The Flags” at Balmain. An Irish lifesavers play! I’d like to see that!
It’s the 28th February and Anne Tomlin is presenting the programme—I’m off to my granddaughters’ Christening. Anne talked to Ireland’s top recording star Brian Kennedy from Melbourne and also interviewed 2 dancers from Dance of Desire which is playing in Sydney.
We are into March and all talk is about St Patrick’s Day celebrations. Maureen Coppinger joined us on the phone from Canada. Maureen talked about true story now the subject of her book Annie’s Girl
The 14th March and its Bachelor morning!!! Paddy Corey joined us in the studio, winner of the 2010 Bachelor of the year. The Bachelors singing group of the sixties and are selling out all over Sydney, John Stokes founding member joins us on the programme.

Well it’s parade day in Sydney Sunday 21st March. We have a packed programme with the help of Mike Bailey, Helen O’Neill and Myles Mooney all went well. Garry Crowley gave us a call to update the Tullamore Irish Festival details for Easter weekend!

March is coming to an end; Eva and I are presenting the programme today Sunday 28th. We have a big response tickets for the new Irish movie The Eclipse, released on 15th April. I featured 2 new artists this morning Martin Byrne from Dublin and The Teds from Birmingham
April 4th and we have a packed programme. Kate O’Shea is reporting from Dublin and talking to the queen of Moore Street among others. Paddy Armstrong, founder of the Irish Australian Ex Services Association joins me live in the studio. Sr. Eileen Lenihan phoned in to discuss the Canonisation of Blessed Mary MacKillop in October this year. Its Easter weekend and Bishop David Cremin gives his Easter message.

Our good friend Mike Bailey presented the programme on Sunday 11th April. I was at a wedding on Saturday so I had the Sunday off and I needed it!
Sunday 18th April, Myles joined us with his monthly historical piece!
25th April I presented a special courtesy on RTE radio on the Gallipoli campaign and how it related to the Ireland. Very well received
2nd May we went across to Ireland to interview Frank Crummey, author of “Crummy V Ireland” Frank took on the Church and State and won!
Ian Reid from “The Teds” one of the best Irish bands from Birmingham joined us on the programme.

It’s May 16th and Martin Byrne a new recording artist called from Dublin. Martin has just released a new album “My Ireland”.
Irish singer songwriter John Spillane is getting ready for his Australian tour, and called from Cork. Always great to talk to John, a very talented artist.

Talking about talented artists I had the pleasure of talking to Monica Brown who released her new CD “A Hearts Journey”
The 2010 Sydney Rose is Louise Lenihan and she called to talk about her night. Over 500 people attended Anne Tomlin reviewed her books following her return from holidays in Ireland. Talking about books, Paddy Ryan from Tipperary joined us live from Dublin on the 30th May. Paddy is the author of a great read “The Life and Times of Archbishop Patrick John Ryan”

The book reviews continued when on 6th June, I spoke to Dr Stephen Costello from Dublin, author of “18 Reasons Why Mothers Hate Their Children”
Kate O’Shea was in Dublin also and talked to the owner of Dublin’s Leprechaun Museum. Betty was back with her very comprehensive GAA report.
On June the 13th Local Irish Priest Fr. John McSweeney launched his third book “Light of Other Days” his life and times over his many years in Ireland, Japan and Australia.
Mike Bailey, Anne Tomlin and the team looked after affairs as I took 2 weeks break.

It’s the 1st of August and Gerard Ryan President of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade visited the studio to launch the 2011 festivities. From Ardfinnan, Co Tipperary, Betty gave a run down on the GAA scene in Ireland.
The great Irish snooker player Alex “Hurricane” Higgins died after a battle with throat cancer. Retired International snooker player, Paddy Morgan called to reminisce on the life and times of Alex. Sr.Lecia from Mercy Sisters joined the programme to talk about her new project???????

The 15th August our resident historian Myles Mooney did a piece on W.B.Yeats which was very well received. Sports reporter Betty joined us from Ireland, the GAA scene is starting to hot up with the finals being played over coming weeks.
Two Irish recording stars Daniel O’ Donnell and Briege Murphy joined me on the programme 29th August. Daniel is well known to Australian audience and plays’ to packed houses. Briege from Co Armagh is on her first Australian tour and we eagerly await her arrival
It’s the 5th of September and All Ireland hurling day. Our very popular sports correspondent Betty joins us live from Dublin. The craic is mighty she say’s! with Blue and Gold of Tipperary and the Black and Amber of Kilkenny dominating the streets of the capital. Betty is not sure if Tipp can knock over the hot favourites Kilkenny???
Brian Friel’s play “Dancing at Lughnasa” is about to open at Chatswood Zenith Centre. Abi Raiment is the producer and talked to us about the production.

Ken Maurer, from Maurer and Brack’s Funeral parlor, joined us as a web sponsor. Ken filled us in on the industry and gave some very important advice. Betty joined the programme form her home in Tipperary and she was still in awe of the great Tipperary win over Kilkenny in the All Ireland Hurling final. Betty feels Cork will win the football final against Down.
It’s the 19th September and Ireland’s top selling author Kathy Kelly is touring Australia and called in for a chat. Her latest novel ‘Homecoming” is already a best seller!
Sligo’s Tommy Fleming talked to us from Portugal prior to his 2010 Australian tour!
Irish/Australian singer-composer has just released his best album ever ‘Liberty Junction”. Martin originally from Dublin is one of foremost artists.
Celtic Woman show is arriving down under for their first Australian tour and Lisa Kelly one of the lovely Women joined us from New York.

It’s the 17th Of October and a very special day for Australia. Blessed Mary MacKillop is to be canonized a Saint in Rome. Bishop David Cremin and Sr.Kathleen Clifford joined me on air to talk about this great event.

It’s the 14th November! Talked to Paddy Armstrong about his retirement from the Public Service after 42years!
Cork’s duel hurling and Gaelic football star Brian Murphy joined me in the studio. Great to go down memory lane with one of the all time greats! Brian’s brother in law Pat Hickey also joined us in song accompanied by Nicky O’Neill. It was a great morning’s craic.

I’m away for a two week break to Singapore and a 5 day cruise to Malaysia and Thailand. Thanks to Ann Tomlin and team for keeping the show going.
It’s heading for year end, December 5th. Back from a nice break. I Loved Singapore and the Asian cruise.
On this mornings show I spoke to Richard Kirwan in Waterford, Ireland. Richard is the author of “If Maps Could Speak” very interesting stuff.
It’s December the 12th and the annual Mass in the studio. Once again a great success and very well received by our listeners. Our new Consul General Caitriona Ingoldsby joined us and did one of the readings.
